Apsu

Apsu is a primordial deity from Mesopotamian mythology, representing the fresh waters beneath the earth. His consort was Tiamat, the goddess of the salt seas, and together they embodied the union of freshwater and saltwater that gave rise to the first generations of gods. Apsu symbolizes the life-giving potential of water, stability, and the foundations of creation itself. His story also reflects the balance between order and chaos, as his still, fertile waters stood in contrast to Tiamat’s untamed and turbulent seas.
